From Dull to Shiny with Monarch Vinyl Upholstery Cleaner
Staff and patients noticed the difference
Calvin Brown, sterilization technician and dental assistant with Innovative Smiles at the Forum in Peachtree Corners, GA, wanted to improve the appearance of the practice’s patient chairs. He tried several products, but they left the surfaces looking dull. “Some of the material on the chairs even started to crack,” said Brown. “Worst of all was that the products left behind a sticky residue after every use.”
In search of an alternative, Brown tried Air Techniques Monarch Vinyl Upholstery Cleaner. Everyone in the practice immediately noticed a difference. “It gives the chairs a nice shine,” said Brown.
“The chairs look more polished, like they’re glowing.”

Improved Appearance, Easy to Use
The Monarch Vinyl Upholstery Cleaner formulation includes a blend of surfactants, silicone compounds, and avocado oil to thoroughly clean and help maintain the appearance of dental chairs. With no residue left behind, the result is a glossy finish.
The cleaner can be used in combination with the special supplied sponge (though Brown said he’s used paper towels to good effect, too) to remove grime, stains, and discoloration. It can be used 2 to 3 times a week or as needed.
In addition, Monarch Vinyl Upholstery Cleaner is compatible with disinfectant sprays and wipes. Disinfect the surface first, wipe dry, then apply the upholstery cleaner and wipe off again with a dry clean cloth or paper towel.
Recommendation Based on Experience
Brown said that Monarch Vinyl Upholstery Cleaner makes the practice’s chairs more presentable. “Patients used to complain about the chairs being wet after we cleaned them,” said Brown. “We’d have to follow it up with a paper towel to soak up the excess solution, and it left behind a sticky residue that never looked clean.”
Since introducing Air Technique’s upholstery cleaner to the practice, Brown said those complaints have ended because it dries fast. “Nothing’s left behind on the chairs,” he added.
Brown has worked in dentistry for 16 years, so when he recommends a product, you know he means it. “The chairs now look more polished, like they’re glowing,” concluded Brown.
