Dr. Notarantonio is a 2002 graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he received honors in both removable and fixed prosthodontics. He completed his residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Stony Brook in 2003, and was chosen by faculty to complete a second year as Chief Resident. Dr. Notarantonio is one of approximately 400 dental professionals internationally to achieve Accreditation status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

The goal for every practitioner is to successfully perform all necessary operative steps with effi ciency and success. This can be a daunting task, especially with Class II composite restorations that have very deep boxes. As a clinician focused on cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Adamo E. Notarantonio is always looking for a composite that combines excellent handling, adequate depth of cure, and optimal esthetics.

“With a substantial depth of cure, REVEAL HD Bulk gives me all of the qualities I’m looking for,” Dr. Notarantonio said of the product’s substantial depth of 5 to 6 mm ISO (depending on the shade selected).

REVEAL HD Bulk is a light-activated restorative composite optimized to allow for simpler and faster posterior restorations. In addition to the unparalleled depth of cure, the material features low shrinkage stress, exceptional radiopacity for easy detection, low volumetric shrinkage, high fl exural strength, and low water sorption and solubility.

“Without a doubt, my single most favorite quality of REVEAL HD Bulk is its handling. I was very impressed as to how it did not stick to my instrument, even without the use of a modeling resin,” said Dr. Notarantonio. “It stayed where I placed it, and fl owed extremely well, even without being heated. This is one of the qualities that sets REVEAL HD Bulk apart from the competition.”

REVEAL HD Bulk is easy to place in preps— clinicians will appreciate the simple delivery system as well as the composite’s viscosity, which combine to ensure that the composite fi lls the necessary margins without voids. And while Dr. Notarantonio has not historically been a “bulk fi ll” user, preferring to pack resin in 2 to 3 mm increments, he said he appreciates the confi dence of knowing that when he overfi lls to 4 mm, the resin is still being completely cured.

“Why should other dentists check out REVEAL HD Bulk? Simple: predictability in their everyday resins. For the everyday dentist, it takes away a lot of the guessing of, ‘Did I overfi ll and completely cure my resin?’ In my opinion, the peace of mind you get from REVEAL HD Bulk is priceless in our everyday practice,” Dr. Notarantonio added.
