ACTEON developed the X-Mind Trium imaging system to provide quality imaging, optimum diagnosis, and minimal radiation exposure. Dr. Diyari Abdah, who has been a dentist in England for 20 years, recently added the X-Mind Trium to his practice. Here’s what he told us about the impact of this imaging system on his chairside experience and his practice.
DPS When did you first learn about X-Mind Trium, and what was it about this system that stood out to you?
My imaging dealer first brought it to my attention. I immediately liked the smart, high level of technology that comes with the X-Mind Trium 3D CBCT device. I also liked the way it integrates into my practice. We don’t have a lot of space, so size is very important. And the software is very intuitive and easy to use.
DPS What kind of impact has the X-Mind Trium had on your digital workflow?
First of all, my patients as well as my staff and I are very impressed with the level of image detail, making it a great educational tool. Patient acceptance of treatment has been 100% since we’ve had the X-Mind Trium. As for the digital flow, the software is always growing, with new features and more planning capabilities, which makes it one of a kind.
DPS The X-Mind Trium is an upgradeable unit, with options including panoramic, panoramic 3D, panoramiccephalometric, and pan ceph 3D. How important do you think upgradeability is to dentists in general?
The fact that the X-Mind Trium is many devices in one makes it one of the best diagnostic tools any practitioner can hope for and one of the best in the dental market. The ability to upgrade allows dentists to start with what they need now and then add features as their service offerings grow. In my practice, we started with pano and 3D at the same time.
DPS Has having the X-Mind Trium in your practice changed the services you offer?
We’re certainly getting more patients to understand what’s going on in their mouths, which leads them to be happy to proceed with the suggested treatment. The system allows them to see the situation right in front of them. So far, no patient has refused treatment, because once they see the problem and our suggested solutions, they want to get on with the treatment.
As for us, the clinicians, we feel we’re providing our services at a whole new level, which allows us to sleep better knowing that we don’t have to guess anymore like we used to when using a flat 2D image. It’s one of the best investments we’ve ever made in our clinic.
DPS In general, what impact has the unit had on your diagnostic ability and treatment planning?
Diagnostics are at a whole different level, both in implantology and endodontics. The graphic representation of bone density around implants is a very helpful feature, as is the virtual endoscope for identifying nerve canals. In fact, that virtual endoscope is particularly unique. With the X-Mind Trium, we see things we never saw before with a small 2D image, making the treatment we provide more accurate and predictable.
DPS Has the X-Mind Trium benefited your bottom line?
It goes without saying that the X-Mind Trium presents the best ROI we’ve had from any technology before. The software is very comprehensive and yet easy to use; any staff member with radiology training can use it in a very short time. All in all, the X-Mind Trium has been the best dental purchase we’ve made in years, and no clinician should be without it.
