EdgeEndo: Revolutionizing Dental Practices

Innovation is at the heart of EdgeEndo, a supplier of dental products and solutions. By bringing cutting-edge products to the industry at lower costs, EdgeEndo is making it easier for dental practices of all sizes to deliver the best possible service.becoming a social steward

“We believe premium technology shouldn’t have to come with a premium price tag,” the company states on its website. “We are dedicated to the pursuit of bringing leading-edge products to the industry. This thought and modern business model is revolutionizing dental practices across the U.S. and the world.”

Because EdgeEndo, a privately held company in Albuquerque, NM, that launched in 2012, sells directly to dental professionals, they can cut back on distribution costs. And with a focus on endodontic supplies, thermal obturators, and heat-treated nickel titanium (NiTi) rotary fi les, EdgeEndo’s ultimate goal is to provide the most indemand, high-quality products within a practice’s budget.

Inspired to Help Dental Colleagues

Charles J. Goodis, DDS, founder and owner of EdgeEndo, said he wants to help fellow dental professionals “do great root canals at half the cost.” As a dental professional himself, Goodis helped change the way dentists shop and purchase supplies in more than 30 countries worldwide. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, he attended the University of Michigan for mechanical engineering and dental school before spending 2 years working as a dentist for the Indian Health Service. He later attended the University of Minnesota, eventually completing his endodontic residency at the University of Connecticut.cutting edge products

He was inspired to launch EdgeEndo after opening his own endodontic practice in New Mexico. In the beginning, the goal was to encourage dentists and endodontists alike to use the best endodontic NiTi rotary files, but at half the price of what was being offered at the time. “I know how expensive NiTi rotary fi les can be,” he said, and he eventually realized he could save practices $10,000 to $30,000 per year.

Using his experience in dentistry and the satisfaction that comes from treating patients “with extreme patience, kindness, and understanding,” Goodis looked at the dental industry not as a challenge, but as a place for opportunities. “When things get to feel like a challenge,” he said, “flip the script to it being an opportunity.”

Building Strategic Partnerships

Since becoming one of the largest NiTi rotary fi le suppliers, EdgeEndo partnered with other industry all-stars, including Henry Schein in Canada, one of the world’s largest suppliers of dental products.

“We are extremely happy to be accelerating our global expansion,” Goodis said. “The fi les offer excellent resistance to cyclic fatigue and enhanced flexibility, which allow clinicians to do high-quality root canals in an efficient manner, all for a reasonable cost.”

Today, the company’s files, carrier-based obturators, points, and additional endodontic supplies are among the most popular dental products being sold worldwide. The endodontic fi les and obturators in particular have become successful alternatives to other more expensive products on the market, and can be used with existing endodontic ovens.
