Equipment Designed for Smarter Workflows

Making smart equipment choices for your practice is easy with DENTALEZ’s growing portfolio of devices that combine power, smart technology, and intelligent operation

In the dental world, the phrase “work smarter, not harder” often translates into doing more high-quality dentistry in less chair time. While having a great dental team and smooth workflow are essential to working smarter, the equipment used to provide great patient care day in, and day out should not be overlooked.

That’s one reason why Dr. Peter Certo enjoys using the Aeras 500 Elite. Part of DENTALEZ’s Aeras Intelligent Platform—which includes essential equipment with built-in cloud-based monitoring available—the high-speed, air-driven handpiece weighs just 48 grams yet packs a serious punch. Despite its lightweight design, it offers 39 W of power to easily cut through tooth structure and various dental materials, even high-strength ceramic materials, without generating excess heat like an electric handpiece would.

“The torque of the Aeras 500 Elite handpiece makes short work of dental materials like gold, porcelain, e.max, and amalgam,” noted Dr. Certo, adding that when used with the proper burs, it significantly reduces the time it takes to cut through zirconium. “Considering the increased use of zirconium and e.max, the Aeras handpiece is a must-have for my armamentarium.”

“The Hands-Free HVE helps keep everything clean and hands-free during the ongoing pandemic—freeing us up to focus on other tasks and create a great patient experience.”

Available LubeFree or lubricated with fiber optics that connect to 6-pin ISO or standard 4-hole tubing, the Aeras 500 Elite provides cooling with a multi-port water spray and uses cool-spectrum LED illumination technology to enhance visibility and navigation in the oral cavity. It also is equipped with radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology that, when used with a compatible reader system, detects and communicates a range of issues before they become problems.

Hands-Free HVE: Safe & Simple

When it comes to choosing equipment for his practice, Dr. Certo has made smart choices beyond the Aeras 500 Elite. For example, he recently started using DENTALEZ’s Hands-Free HVE Holder, a pre-assembled device with an HVE valve and tubing that connects to the practice’s existing vacuum system. Compatible with most dental chairs, it helps ensure full-time extraoral HVE suction during aerosol-generating procedures, such as when handpieces or ultrasonic scalers are in use.

“The Hands-Free HVE is a great de-vice,” shared Dr. Certo. “HVE picks up a lot of the aerosol created by dental procedures. Especially with every-thing we’ve been through in the past year, this instrument helps keep everything clean and hands-free during the ongoing pandemic—freeing us up to focus on other tasks and create a great patient experience.”

Easy to operate, the Hands-Free HVE has a flexible holder arm that can be moved in and out of the way for op-timal flexibility, while the HVE valve snaps in or out of the arm as needed. Dr. Certo’s dental assistant, Courtney, loves the hands-free device as much as he does, as it allows her to run the dental office with ease while Dr. Certo is with a patient. For example, she can complete paperwork, clean rooms, take x-rays, or work on a temporary crown with this extra time, which helps keep appointments on track.

“When I’m working with a patient, it keeps my other hand free,” added Dr. Certo. “Usually, if my assistant is available, she would be helping me out by holding the handpiece. But now, when I’m using the Hands-Free HVE, she can be doing other things to move treatment along smoothly.”
