A post offers similar hope to patients, especially those lacking sufficient tooth structure to support a crown. But instead of going up, this post goes down into the root canal, restoring the coronal structure of the tooth and increasing crown retention. Anatomically shaped to fit the root canal, fiber posts in the GLASSIX Plus system are available in 4 sizes, offering high flexural strength and excellent light transmission for compatibility with dual-cured resin cements. Adjustable color-coded rings are used for post size and demarcation.

GLASSIX Plus posts feature twisted grooves for superior mechanical retention with virtually no breaking points. “The included drills provide the most accurate space for the matching post selected for treatment,” said Dr. Nazarian. “I have yet to see a fracture in this post material or tooth once treated with GLASSIX Plus.”

The GLASSIX Plus introductory kit comes with a pilot reamer, 5 posts in each of the 4 sizes, and 1 matching sized drill for each post size.

Natural-Looking Results

The GLASSIX Plus fiber post is highly radiopaque, making it easy to see on X-rays. It also has a translucent matrix that blends easily with the composite restoration. “Perhaps most importantly, the tooth maintains a natural color due to the translucent nature of the post material,” concluded Dr. Nazarian.
