Key Products

Implant Direct’s line of products includes biomaterials, implant systems, abutments, drills, and surgical kits.

OSTEOPLUGosteoplug

Comprised of a calcium phosphate-based mineral with a synthetic carbonate apatite structure akin to natural bone, the similarity in structure between the OsteoPlug mineral and natural anorganic bone mineral mimics natural bone as shown in vivo resorption and remodeling profiles. The product offers ease of use for socket sites treated with composite plugs and expands to fill socket sites when hydrated. OsteoPlug is available in 2 sizes—regular (10x20 mm) and slim (6x25 mm)—each conveniently packaged 5 per box.

KONTOUR MATRIX

Composed of a network of highly purified porcine collagen fibers intermingled with highly purified porcine elastin fibers, Kontour Matrix dental barrier membrane is designed to protect the bone defect space. By preventing the migration of undesired cells from the surrounding soft tissue and allowing the ingrowth of osteogenic cells, this membrane material establishes an environment favorable for bone regeneration.

Kontour Matrix is hydrophilic and retains its structural integrity in the wet state, eliminating the need for a preferred orientation during application. Due to the high stability of the product, the stretch and pliability provide superior handling that doesn’t tear during augmentation or ridge preservation procedures. Kontour Matrix is available in three sizes: 15x20 mm, 25x30 mm, and 30x40 mm.

DIRECTGEN ALLOGRAFT

A natural, safe, and easyto-use bone grafting material, DirectGen delivers optimal results across a range of surgical applications. The product comes in various donated tissue types—cortical, cancellous, or cortical-cancellous blend—and is suited for many clinical needs. Implant Direct’s donor screening process has robust quality systems built into every stage of allograft production, starting with screening and eligibility determination. Its quality standards meet or exceed the regulations and guidelines of the FDA, the AATB, and individual state health departments. Sterile allografts are subjected to low-dose, gamma irradiation validated to Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-6.

SMARTBASEsmartbase

Designed for use with Implant Direct Legacy, SMARTbase CAD/ CAM engaging abutments combine a dual-hue finish for enhanced esthetics and freedom of choice with screw-retained restorations. The gold anodization allows for the use of more translucent restorative materials, while the pink anodization of the titanium base offers a more natural blending with gingival tissue. Additionally, the concave transgingival profile shapes tissue growth for a thicker gingival cuff, reducing the chance of the abutment showing through while enabling subcrestal placement.

DLC DRILLS

Implant Direct DLC drills leverage diamond-like carbon coating (DLC), a bioinert material that enhances the wear resistance of biomedical components while maintaining low friction during drilling. Within the DLC drill line, 4 different hub sizes vary by diameter to minimize hub width and reduce the possibility of interference.

All DLC drills have a higher-contrast coating for better visibility of drill depth markings. Additionally, drill color-coding makes identification and organization of drills easier and matches the surgical kit and the implant vial label. New short DLC drills have longer flutes as well as 11.5 mm and 13 mm depth marks to enable placement of implants up to 13 mm in length. The overall length of long DLC drills (6–16 mmL) is 36.6 mm and the overall length of short DLC drills (6–13 mmL) is 30.6 mm. DLC drills are indicated for drilling up to 30 osteotomies per drill at a recommended maximum of 1,200 rpm and are made of stainless-steel to meet the ASTM A564 standard. The DLC drill hub provides a secure fit for Implant Direct drill stops to attach and aligns with preset drill stop diameters.

DLC DRILL STOP KIT

The Implant Direct DLC Drill Stop Kit is used to store, sterilize, and verify Implant Direct drill stop length, as well as facilitate the mounting and removal of drill stops. The kit includes the release bracket, which is used for removing drill stops via a push-button system, as well as verifying their length via a ruler and included depth markings. The DLC Drill Stop Kit is small, autoclavable, and provides convenient storage and easy access to both drill stops and DLC drills. For added ease of use, all drill stops and DLC drills can be sterilized within the DLC Drill Stop Kit.

STANDARD SURGICAL KIT PACKAGE

A reusable perforated instrument cassette system, the Implant Direct Standard Surgical Kit includes an outer case, cover, and inner tray and is intended to hold dental instruments in place during transport, steam sterilization, and storage. The Standard Surgical Kit supports Implant Direct implant placement protocols and holds the following dental instruments: surgical drills, paralleling tools, implant drivers, drill extenders, and prosthetic drivers. These kits also contain a removable stainless-steel pan, which functions as a storage receptacle for used surgical instruments.
