Luna 2

New and improved, Luna 2 universal composite builds on the success of Luna by offering VIDEO simple shade matching, nonsticky handling, and long-term wear resistance

While dental composites may look similar on the outside, it’s what they’re formulated with on the inside that really matters. For example, SDI’s Luna nanohybrid composite uses micron-sized particles and a hybrid filler that make it easy to polish and maintain a smooth surface over time. A next-generation universal composite from SDI, Luna 2 features an improved blend of fillers, extensively researched and specially developed to offer better handling, improved polishability, very high radiopacity, and a long-lasting shine.

A Faster Shade Match

While patients don’t always make the most logical decisions about their dental health, when they do decide to move forward with treatment, it’s helpful to use restorative materials that offer predictable results. Luna 2 uses innovative Logical Shade Matching Technology for easier and more precise shade selection. Shades are designed to prioritize lightness, while pigments are arranged in a logically increasing way for an easier and faster match to the VITA Classical Shade Guide.

“For a new product to be accepted and incorporated into the dental practice, it must solve a problem like simplifying shade selection, as well as be user-friendly,” noted Dr. Fay Goldstep, adding that Luna 2 checks off both of these boxes.

In addition to Luna 2’s improved esthetics, including natural tooth-like properties across all light sources, the universal composite features nonsticky, nonslumping handling, as well as a filler formulation that promotes excellent polishing results and longterm wear resistance.

A Team Player

Luna 2 is part of a restorative system that includes Luna Flow, a flowable composite, and Zipbond, a universal adhesive. The trio was recently put to the test by a group of DPS evaluators, where Dr. Stephen Rosenberg found it to be a well-coordinated composite restorative that's useful in a wide variety of situations. “It is versatile but not overcomplicated, performs very well, and integrated into my practice easily,” he added.
