Meron Plus QM
A resin-modified, glass ionomer cement offers 2 times more bond strength and VIDEO adhesiveness, along with an optional tack cure for easy, fast, and precise application
As a practicing dentist for over 30 years, it’s a safe bet that Martin Jablow, DMD, has used every cement out there. Like most products, each cement has its own set of pluses and minuses, and over the years, Dr. Jablow has carefully researched and noted the differences—both good and bad—among what has become a crowded field of dental cement products. But since adding Meron Plus QM to his armamentarium, Dr. Jablow has a lot of pluses to report.
Meron Plus QM is a resin-modified glass ionomer cement that’s 2 times stronger and provides better adhesion than many category-leading brands of dental cements, while also providing superior bond strength to dentin and enhanced strength to zirconia crowns. Fluoride-releasing and self-adhesive, Meron Plus QM provides secure and quick cementation without the need of an additional conditioner.
“Overall, I’ve seen less sensitivity, good bond strength, ease of application, and simple cleanup.”

“In the dental cement industry, many products are quite similar in characteristics,” Dr. Jablow explained. “When choosing a cement, it really comes down to whether or not a product performs well, and Meron Plus QM does.”
Optional Tack Cure
Meron Plus QM is moisture- and acid-resistant, with a low water solubility that can reduce margin degradation of the cement, and a low film thickness that allows for a precise marginal fi t. An easy, QuickMix syringe ensures a reliable mixing ratio, as well as an optimal and precise application, which is an added benefit for cost efficiency. Additionally, Meron Plus QM is self-curing and cleanup is fast and easy, thanks to an optional tack-cure feature with any curing light.
“It comes in its own syringe, so it’s simple to mix and it cleans up easily, which makes for easy placement of your prosthetics,” Dr. Jablow added. “You can accentuate the cleanup with a tack cure by using a light. A short burst of light slightly polymerizes the material and allows any excess to be removed easily before it is fully set.”
Meron Plus QM has an extraoral working time of 2 minutes, which means there is sufficient time to apply the material in a range of restorative applications—everything from single-tooth restorations to multiunit bridges. “Meron Plus QM is a good product for zirconia, metal, or porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations,” added Dr. Jablow. “I really like its handling, ease of use, and, of course, cost efficiency. Overall, I’ve seen less sensitivity, good bond strength, ease of application, and simple cleanup. Especially with my zirconia restorations, it makes my workflow more efficient.”
