While COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close contact from person to person via respiratory droplets, SARS-CoV-2 may also be spread via airborne transmission including aerosols. Aerosols are microscopic droplets that remain floating in the air for minutes to hours, and are generated when an infected person breathes, speaks, coughs or sneezes and may also be generated during dental procedures. This webinar will discuss the current science and understanding of the transmission of COVID-19, the role of aerosols in disease transmission, and mitigation strategies to help ensure a safe dental visit for patients and dental personnel.
