PrimeTaper EV Implant debuts a new 3.0-mm option for narrow spaces and an enhanced guided surgical kit for increased efficiency

When guided implant surgery first came to dentistry over a decade ago, it was a game changer for implant placement—allowing for precise treatment planning and optimal implant positioning that reduced errors and increased success rates. Now, it’s time to embark on the next generation of guided surgery, and it all starts with the PrimeTaper EV Implant.

In response to clinicians' need for an implant system with simplified handling, an intuitive tray design, and compatibility with very narrow spaces is a new 3.0mm option for the PrimeTaper EV Implant. “There has never been a 3.0mm implant for guided surgery, and it’s something we’ve been wanting since basically the inception of guided surgery,” shared Mark Ludlow, DMD, MS. “Now that we have a 3.0mm guided implant, it’s absolutely monstrous, because I don’t think there’s a single implant you’d rather guide than a 3.0.”

A Closer Look at PrimeTaper EV

Designed for excellent handling and procedural efficiency, the PrimeTaper EV Implant has an OsseoSpeed surface that expedites healing and encourages new bone formation. The addition of an extra small 3.0mm implant enables a fully guided procedure for narrow spaces that adds flexibility, efficiency, and confidence to the workflow.

“There are many situations, such as when you have an upper lateral with narrow dimensions and vital structures, where you have a very tiny space to place the implant,” said Dr. Malene Hallund, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Copenhagen, Denmark. “In these scenarios, placing a guided 3.0mm PrimeTaper EV Implant is essential.”

Enhanced Guided Surgical Kit

A newly designed, step by step surgical kit features 2 trays for more efficient operation, intuitive navigation, and smarter sleeve management.

The medium sized, everyday tray supports most implant cases with a range of drills and instruments to help achieve planned treatment outcomes, while the small tray houses intermediate drills and sleeves for fine-tuning precise bone care. Both trays follow a user-friendly left or ight workflow and have a separate sleeve compartment for all sizes.
