As a 2nd-generation clinician, Dr. Brett Titensor is embracing innovation at every turn—with digital tools, same-day workflows, and a tech-forward new facility on the way

Once you can take a full-arch impression, that opens the door to almost any aspect of dentistry. Now, we were doing night guards, sleep apnea, clear aligners...There's so much you can do when you have the power of full arch. And we could even do edentulous, making our denture workflows more streamlined and easier.
How did Primescan 2 build upon those advancements?
It took all of those huge benefits from Primescan—those amazing, detailed, full-arch scans with the seamless software that CEREC provided—and just made everything better. Primescan is bigger, it has a cord, and it's usually attached to a cart or a laptop, so it would sit in one or two of the operatories in our office.
Primescan 2 gave us the ability to take a full-arch impression at any second and in any chair in our office. That is awesome, because so many things that are productive in really hanging our patients’ lives—whether it's clear aligners or crowns or implants—start with the scan. So Primescan 2, providing that access to a scanner at any chair at any time has been amazing. I love that it's wireless, and with its integration with DS Core, I can access those scans anywhere that has an internet connection.
How will this technology play a role in the new office you’re planning to open in 2026?
We're really building it from the ground up around the whole idea of connecting with the patient. I think it'll be a truly unique dental experience that hasn't been done before. And technology like Primescan 2 was created for an office like that, because when you have 15 ops spread out over a large space, it's just not realistic to roll a cart around or even to carry a laptop. The convenience and the mobility of Primescan 2 is almost essential to this type of operation. Even in our current 6-op office, the ability to take a scan anywhere is convenient, but it’s especially going to shine in a bigger, more spread-out office.
What have your patients thought about your ability to produce appliances with Primeprint and mill same-day restorations with CEREC Primemill?
Today, people are used to quick delivery. Think Amazon Prime—they want this product and they want it tomorrow or even today. Whether that’s good or bad for society, it just is the world we live in. So, there is some dissonance when they can get a brand-new TV delivered the next day, but they have to wait 2 months for a night guard. So, it’s almost becoming a necessity to have these workflows. There are amazing doctors out there who are going to start losing more and more patients to practices that can deliver something more efficiently and with a better patient experience. Patients are more aware, more educated, and they are actively seeking out practices that have the technology to do these things.
For what types of cases are you using your Primeprint Solution?
We do a lot of implant dentistry, and since we got Primeprint we’ve done strictly guided surgery, because the workflow to 3D print a surgical guide on Primeprint is so streamlined and so easy. We also produce a lot of night guards. Before the Primeprint, it wasn't the best experience with night guards—it would take months to get them back from the lab, and if you needed adjustments, you had to send it back. It was frustrating. But now, if a patient comes in having TMJ pain, I can tell them about this really cool muscle relaxer/deprogrammer that we can make to get them out of pain. Rather than saying, “You're going to feel amazing in 2 months when it gets here,” I can tell them that I will have it this afternoon. That’s really transformational when it comes to the patient experience.
We’re also now 3D printing dentures, which has helped our whole edentulous and implant-retained workflows. I can't imagine very many dentists love that workflow with the amount of appointments and impressions, so to be able to cut the steps down has been very helpful. So, our assistants are trained on Primeprint and it is basically running every day in the background.
