V-Posil: PRECISION VPS IMPRESSION MATERIAL OFFERS PRACTICAL WORKING AND SETTING TIMES
Find out why Steven J. Mondre, DDS, FAGD, FACD, FICD, believes that V-Posil:
• Creates clean, accurate impressions that are easy to read.
• Offers an almost immediate moldable quality unlike any other impression material.
I use a lot of impression materials, and though each has unique characteristics, they all tend to have the same properties. What stands out about VOCO’s V-Posil material is that it is unbelievably accurate in creating impressions that are extremely crisp, clean, and easy to read from both the clinician’s and the lab technician’s point of view.
VOCO has paid attention to details such as wettability, tear strength, flowability, and working time with this product, and those are 4 of the most clinically important qualities in an impression material.
When you use V-Posil impression material, you find that it has a stable consistency immediately upon expressing. The V-Posil Light Fast wash material extrudes in a semi-setting state that gives it almost a moldable quality—like squirting a string-like material into the sulcus. Then, once placed in the mouth, it goes through a 2-minute setting process until it hardens. Through time optimization, it offers a long but adjustable working time and a short intraoral setting time.
Maximum Precision
The properties of this material are unique, and it is so much more accurate than other materials. This has to do with the chemistry of the material, and the way it handles and moves around. When expressing the Light Fast, it pushes so easily into the sulcus. It displays a more rigid state, even though it’s not rigid at all, to pick up details of whatever you’re taking an impression of without getting displaced. I have never seen that in any kind of impression material. That is the coolest and most outstanding thing about V-Posil.
I’ve also found the material to be hemostatic in nature. Any slight bleeding spots seem to immediately stop upon expressing the material.
Make the Switch
If your practice is using a low-quality material and getting mediocre results—look at your impressiontaking technique first and then switch to V-Posil impression material to see what it is you’re missing. You get a high-quality impression material without the price tag usually associated with that quality. If you still get mediocre results after you switch, then consider that it may be the way you’re using it and not the material itself.
