"I placed the Pro-Matrix band on tooth No. 13 to protect the mesial surface from bur damage," he said. That turned out to be a valuable step, as the band was nicked by the bur while removing the patient's existing composite and decay. "After polishing the margins and cleaning the preparation, I placed another Curved Wide Pro-Matrix band on tooth No. 12 with the arm placed bucally. I specifically chose this precontoured band to provide a tight interproximal contact, and also because it offers easy adjustment and torquing without the need for additional instruments."
