The single-bottle, fluoride-releasing, universal adhesive has an updated chemistry with Rapid Bond Technology

In January, the California Dental Expo once again nominated Kuraray Noritake Dental for its Golden Hands Award of Excellence for Ethics and Truth in Advertising. This annual award recognizes dental manufacturers that, in the opinion of prominent dental professionals involved in education and/or product research, exhibit noble ideals. One of those ideals is “dependable products and services.”

Kuraray’s peer-to-peer recognition coincided with its launch of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick, a single-bottle, fluoride-releasing, universal adhesive. Four decades after the company introduced the first adhesive monomer in dental history, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick is well-positioned to build upon a legacy of convenience.

The updated chemistry of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick combines MDP adhesive monomer and AMIDE monomer to provide a unique Rapid Bond Technology that quickly permeates dentin and enamel, eliminating waiting time and dramatically reducing water absorption. It also reduces technique sensitivity without compromising bond strengths, sealing, or desensitizing.

Dr. Joseph Willardsen, a cosmetic dentist from Las Vegas, has found that the unique formula of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick improves his chairside experience. “With the Rapid Bond Technology in CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick, I am simplifying my technique—not compromising bond strengths or sealing—and I found it to be great near gingival margins,” said Dr. Willardsen. “I feel that I am improving dentistry for my patients and making it easier on my staff.”

CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick bonds directly to dentin, enamel, metals, zirconia, and lithium disilicate restorative materials. It has a thin film layer of 5 m to 10 m and a working time of 7 minutes with a light-blocking plate. It’s indicated for self-etch, selective-etch, and total-etch. It’s also indicated for multiple cases, including direct restoration, intraoral repair, post-cementation/ core build-up, and cementation. The product has a shelf-life of 3.5 years.
