VOCO’s line of glass ionomers offer a range of beneficial properties for a variety of restorations.

For clinicians today, 2 minutes is like 2 hours. They demand products that are easier and faster to use, quicker to clean up, and create less residue and stress.

According to Dr. Frank J. Milnar, an early adopter of the new generation of glass ionomers from VOCO, these GI materials meet the demands of modern dentistry and are also a great way for recent dental school graduates to achieve predictability and fewer sensitivity calls.

With Ionolux, IonoStar, and Meron AC, you don’t have to worry about shrinkage, stress, or micro-leakage, Dr. Milnar recently told Dental Product Shopper. And overall, you won’t get the return visits that impact your workflow.

Each of the new GI materials from VOCO provides the benefits that most clinicians are seeking, with no potentially harmful ingredients and no technique or postoperative sensitivity. They have the added benefit of coming from a manufacturer that relies on science to ensure that its materials meet the high standards of dentists and their patients. Here is an overview of the 3 new products:

Ionolux

Offering composite-like esthetics, the immediately packable, light-cured resin modified GI Ionolux is ideal for Class III and V restorations (especially cervical fillings and root caries), restoration of deciduous teeth, small Class I fillings, temporary fillings, core build-up, and linings. This biocompatible material light-cures quickly, does not stick to instruments, and is translucent and radiopaque. In addition, it provides high fluoride release.

IonoStar Molar

With adjustable consistency, ease of application, and excellent esthetic results, IonoStar Molar has a wide range of indications: restoration of nonocclusion-bearing Class I cavities; semi-permanent restoration of Class I and II cavities; restoration of cervical lesions, Class V cavities, and root caries; temporary restorations; and more. The excellent physical properties of IonoStar Molar mean patients can depend on long-lasting results.

Meron AC

Offered in application capsules for ease of use, Meron AC GI luting cement can be used to lute metal-based crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays; all-ceramic crowns and bridges; metal-based and high-strength all-ceramic crowns and bridges; implant abutments; metal root posts or indirect metal post core build-ups; prefabricated steel crowns; and orthodontic bands. The amount of material available per capsule makes this material appropriate for large restorations. Excess material is simple to clean up, and good wetting behavior and low film thickness eliminate sensitivity.
