Image clarity is the most cited technical factor for quality imagery. Early detection is the key to quick and effective treatment, so image quality is paramount for allowing the clinician to both diagnose what is going on in the patient’s mouth and to allow the patient to see the same thing.

Before he purchased his own private practice in Marysville, CA, Dr. Charles Kattuah had used phosphor plate systems and CMOS-type sensors in other offices. The phosphor plate systems were not much better than film, he recalled, while the CMOS sensors were deficient with regard to image resolution.
