SALUS Instrument Reprocessing Container
How would you like to no longer be required to process instruments in pouches or use sterilization wrap? And what if you could also increase office productivity while minimizing the potential for injury?
SALUS, a reusable container developed by SciCan to organize hygiene instruments during use, transport, cleaning, sterilization, and storage, eliminates the costly and time-consuming use of sterilization paper and pouches. The container is designed to withstand washing and steam sterilization, and to maintain sterility of the instruments during storage.
“With SALUS, dental professionals are no longer required to process instruments in pouches or use sterilization wrap. This enhances office productivity while minimizing the potential for injury,” said Stacey Graf, Product Manager & U.S. Marketing Coordinator for SciCan.
Practices that introduce SALUS can reclaim hours of time previously spent wrapping, save hundreds of dollars in sterilization paper, and reduce waste.
“SALUS is a safe, convenient, and simple alternative to the traditional hassles of sterilizing, organizing, and storing dental hygiene instruments,” said Graf. “This system benefits the patient, the practitioner, and the bottom line.”
SALUS’ temperature-activated security lock system indicates that the container has been processed through a steam sterilizer. The unit’s hard shell further protects instruments as well as users, eliminating the risk of contamination due to punctured wrap or injury from loose instruments.
“Instruments are safely and easily transported in the rack and sleeve. A transparent container allows for instant dentification of instruments and chemical indicator, and a safety knob locks the container for secure transportation,” said Graf.
A safe, convenient, simple way of sterilizing and managing instruments, SALUS fits most standard hygiene solid instruments (up to 6.88 inches).
“SALUS has been validated to maintain sterility for up to 30 days, and the container is designed to last 2,500 cycles,” Graf added.
SALUS is suitable for use in HYDRIM instrument washers, BRAVO chambered autoclaves, and dynamic air-removal steam sterilizers.
“SALUS is designed to work in tandem with autoclave monitoring systems and is suitable for use within ultrasonic and automatic washers and steam sterilizers,” said Graf. “Because SALUS can be used in HYDRIM and BRAVO in different configurations/positions, offices can process up to 10 SALUS units in each machine.”
