Dr. Tarun Agarwal has long leveraged CBCT technology to expand services a nd increase case acceptance at his North Carolina practice, Raleigh Dental Arts. He invested in Cefla’s Newtom GiANO HR a few years back, and recently had the opportunity to try the next-generation Newtom VG-One. In a nutshell, he was impressed.
Smoother, Easier, Faster
The compact unit comes with AI-powered Neowise software, which allows dentists to manage, process, and share all digital images—2D, 3D, and photos—in one place. Clinicians can look at multiple 2D and 3D images at once, making it easier to compare information, as well as gain easy access to renderings, videos, and documents within the same user-friendly interface.
“It has a single, unified, point-of-image management, and that makes presenting treatment to patients smoother, easier, and faster,” said Dr. Agarwal, the owner of 3D Dentists, which provides training and coaching to help dentists realize their full potential. “You can plan an implant much faster and then show it to the patient.”
That does wonders for case acceptance, which he noted is a visual process. When patients can look at clear, sharp 3D images, they better understand the need for treatment and the plan to move forward.
“If I have something that gives me confidence to tell a patient, ‘Yes, we can do this, this is a green-light implant case,’ then I can extend that to patients without having to guess,” Dr. Agarwal said. “The ability to show them 3D images makes you stand apart from other dentists. That gives you a leg up.”
Neowise software is integrated with Pearl AI, which makes “implant planning faster and diagnosis more thorough,” Dr. Agarwal explained.
AI, he predicted, will “play a tremendous role in dentistry,” particularly when it comes to automating repetitive tasks, including initial implant placement.
“With the integrated AI, the software will automatically propose a tooth and automatically place an implant,” he said, “and all the dentist has to do is fine-tune and approve it.” ‘
Amazing’ Images at an Affordable Price
While a premium product, the Newtom VG-One is competitively priced.
“The hardware takes amazing images,” Dr. Agarwal said, “and the software improves case acceptance and image management. Those are great reasons to give this system a try.”
