Created in collaboration with leading clinicians, Brasseler’s organized procedure systems streamline clinical workflows and enable more efficient, predictable patient care

Most dental practitioners are conscious of chair time and efficiency,” said Robert Winter, DDS. “But in my experience, many don’t have a methodology for how they approach procedures.”

For more than 4 decades, Dr. Winter has led a premier prosthodontic practice and commercial laboratory in Southern California while working with Brasseler USA to develop products that enhance clinical efficiency and predictability. Their collaboration has recently resulted in a series of specialized procedure systems designed to streamline setup, reduce chair time, and improve patient outcomes.

A Method to the Madness

Rather than sorting through a scattered instrument inventory on the fly, Brasseler’s preconfigured procedure systems ensure clinicians always have the right tools for the task at hand. “With procedural kits designed for specific techniques, you’re given a methodical approach—a clear series of steps to prepare a tooth for a veneer, crown, or other restoration,” Dr. Winter explained. “This brings greater consistency and precision to procedures, which drives clinical efficiency.”

Procedure systems are available for CAD/CAM restorations, conventional crown and bridge work, laminate veneers, inlays and onlays, clear aligners, and more. Each kit features a selection of high-quality Brasseler instruments, often curated—and in some cases designed—by leading clinicians.

Engineered for Everyday Challenges

Dr. Winter estimates that he designed 90% of the burs in his newest procedural kits, made exclusively for Brasseler, with each instrument engineered to address common challenges encountered in clinical practice.

A standout feature is the multi-radius tip design, which addresses restorative challenges across both analog and digital workflows. “Whether you’re doing physical impressions or scanning, the multi-radius tip virtually eliminates the ‘stair-stepping’ and ‘J-hook’ effects that often occur with flat- and round-ended diamonds, and without changing handpiece technique or bur positioning,” he shared.

Other concepts developed by Dr. Winter include bur designs that enable more efficient, controlled reduction and refinement, as well as a Depth Limiting Series that helps clinicians optimize esthetics without the risk of over-preparation.

There’s also the Universal Equilibration System, a uniquely versatile kit that allows adjustment and polishing of all surfaces—from enamel and dentin to gold, composite, and ceramic materials such as zirconia. Along with indicating proper technique, the system’s interior is conveniently diagrammed with manufacturer recommended bur and polisher speeds.

“While other kits are designed for specific materials, the Universal Equilibration System includes tools that can be used in any situation,” Dr. Winter said. “It’s a kit I have on my bracket table 100% of the time.”

Quality That Lasts

After working with Brasseler USA products for more than 40 years, Dr. Winter can attest to their long-term value. “Less expensive carbide and diamond burs can degrade after a few uses and several sterilization cycles,” he noted, “but Brasseler offers the highest-quality products you can get.”

Combined with their convenience and performance, this reliability represents yet another reason why Brasseler’s procedure systems make it easier to provide excellent patient care.
