Streamline Irrigation with TotalVac and Triton

Open-source system can be configured to single-handedly perform both positive and negative pressure irrigation using a clinician’s preferred needles and tips

Removing debris, bacteria, and infected tissue from the canal is a critical step during endodontic treatment, yet one that often requires a juggling act between high-speed evacuation and positive/negative pressure irrigation. For example, during a conventional root canal procedure, high-speed evacuation is needed during the access preparation phase, followed by surgical suction during positive pressure irrigation.

That leaves clinicians who prefer using large vol- ume negative pressure irrigation with few options, one of which includes purchasing expensive irrigation and suction systems with proprietary connections, needles, and tips, as well as having a chairside assistant at the ready.

An Open System
To the rescue is TotalVac, a system that allows clinicians to meet all suction needs of the procedure—from access opening to positive and negative pressure irrigation to drying the canal prior to obturation. The effective, single-handed irrigation system addresses the different phases of irrigation with 3 main components: a High Speed Tip, Surgical Suction Adapter, and Tubing, which together allow clinicians to quickly switch back and forth between a long, side-vented needle for deep pressure positive irrigation to a shorter needle on the device manifold, allowing for negative pressure irrigation while depositing irrigant inside the canal.

Perhaps the most important feature of TotalVac is its open-source design with a standard luer-lock attachment that allows clinicians to use their preferred needle lengths and tip designs. TotalVac is also the only system that allows for one-handed positive pressure irrigation—ideal for offices with limited access to a chairside assistant.

A Single Irrigant

No stranger to creating all-in-one solutions that streamline the root canal procedure, Brasseler created Triton as a single-step, all-in-one irrigant that provides efficient tissue dissolution and debris removal without using EDTA and CHX. A DPSBest Product, Triton features a patent-pending composition that allows for a lower concentration of NaOCI while being more effective at smear-layer removal compared with traditional solutions that combine NaOCl and EDTA.

Tested and proven by world-renowned endodontists, Triton also impressed DPS evaluators who put it to the test. “It provided a safe and very effective all-in-one solution that helped eliminate items on the tray and streamline the procedure to save time,” said Dr. Brandon Tiek.

Together, TotalVac and Triton single-handedly provide a complete irrigation solution with simplicity and versatility at its core.
