A trio of BISCO materials—All-Bond Universal, TheraCal LC, and TheraBase—help clinicians create durable restorations for their patients
For many dentists, All-Bond Universal has been their go-to adhesive for years. With no activator required, this universal bonding agent reduces steps and simplifies procedures. The versatile All-Bond Universal can be used with any technique in any situation and with any material—even those from other manufacturers—and still achieve success.
While All-Bond Universal creates strong bonds on its own, the restoration receives even more benefits when it's combined with TheraCal LC and TheraBase. These calcium-releasing materials* generate an alkaline pH* that promotes pulp vitality,1 making them ideal for use in deep
Added Protection
A self-adhesive material, TheraBase chemically bonds to tooth structure, while TheraCal LC is a light-cured, resin-modified, calcium-silicate-filled liner that can be precisely placed in deep cavity preparations. Each material can be used on its own or paired together using the sandwich technique.
Adding Thera products to the procedure is simple. Before placing All-Bond Universal, clinicians can add a thin layer of TheraCal LC (less than 1 mm) on top of the dentin, then a layer of TheraBase that’s 2- or 3-mm thick, said Dr. Rolando Nuñez, BISCO’s Manager of Clinical Marketing. The combination adds a layer of pulpal insulation2,3 and adds a solid foundation for the composite restoration.
The materials “generate an interesting environment of calcium release,” Dr. Nuñez said, with TheraBase ranking as “one of the strongest bases on the market.”
“When you combine these two,” he said, “you have the benefit of calcium release, alkaline pH, and the promotion of pulpal health, all having an effect on the overall restoration.”
The Best Results Possible
A powerful trio, All-Bond Universal, TheraCal LC, and TheraBase afford clinicians the flexibility to use the technique they prefer, while patients leave the chair with strong and durable restorations.
“The most important thing we do as dentists is care about our patients,” said Dr. Thomas Dudney, who uses various Thera products in his Alabama practice. “We don’t just want to give them a filling or a crown or a veneer, we want to give them the best results we possibly can. These products allow us to do that.”
