Great restorations start with products that work together. CANVAS Restorative Solutions by Henry Schein bring together products for every stage of the restorative workflow in one portfolio, each delivering consistent quality at an exceptional value. Here, we explore 2 of them.

CANVAS Stainless-Steel Crowns

The CANVAS stainless-steel crowns offer a full-coverage solution for pediatric patients, with many dentists saying they’re just as good as, if not better than, more expensive options.

They come in natural shapes and various sizes, covering everything a pediatric office might need, said Dr. Justin Milo of Dentistry for Children Maryland. He recently tried the crowns and couldn’t tell the difference between them and what his practice was already using. Dr. Erica Anand, a pediatric dentist in Merrick, NY, said the crowns were similar in fi t and size to more expensive options, but slimmer and easier to use for back-to-back crowns. “Some brands are so bulky I have to trim down the tooth much more than with the CANVAS crowns,” she noted.

Dr. Milo said, “It felt like less prep was needed to create a good fi t, which saved some time."

CANVAS Disposable Matrix System

This single-use matrix system features color-coded stainless-steel bands available in straight and curved options. The system is designed for precise positioning in any quadrant thanks to a 180° adjustable locking system, while its low profile improves visibility.

Dr. Christopher Filler tried the system in his Windham, NH, dental practice, and noted it “created a good seal in the gingival box and a more anatomical contact.” It was “much less frustrating to use than Tofflemire or sectional matrix systems,” he added.

This preassembled matrix system is designed to help create tight, broad interproximal contacts, anatomically correct contours, and tight gingival seals with minimal overhang. It is easy to adjust and remove, and is composite and amalgam-compatible.

“I was impressed by its ability to expand and adapt to anatomically large teeth,” Dr. Filler said, “which is often a major challenge with a traditional Tofflemire band.”

More to Come!
