Coltene’s BRILLIANT EverGlow universal composite incorporates a convenient shade-matching system for highly esthetic, long-lasting direct restorations
“Whether applied to the anterior or the posterior, BRILLIANT EverGlow takes on the color of the tooth surface,” he said. “A lot of other one-shade-fits-all composites have more translucency, but the problem with that is they are so translucent that it shows on the tooth and appears differently at recalls. BRILLIANT EverGlow has more color particles to truly maintain the tooth’s color.”
BRILLIANT EverGlow is indicated for permanent direct restorations of all cavity cases, and its excellent polishability and long-lasting brilliance ensure highly esthetic results. “There isn’t an indication where I would say you couldn’t use it,” Dr. Albrecht said. “Seeing recalls for the last 7 years or so, I occasionally touch up bonds and smile makeover cases, but the luster and shine still look great.”
Smooth Application, Reliable Results
The smooth consistency and exceptional wettability of BRILLIANT EverGlow ensure easy handling and adhesion when applied to bonded tooth surfaces. It is compatible with self-, total-, and selective-etch techniques.
“I don’t like my composites too hard or too soft because it causes them to stick to my instruments more, and BRILLIANT EverGlow doesn’t do that, which is nice,” Dr. Albrect said. “The handling of this composite is perfect. It adapts well when you’re trying to pack it.”
He added that BRILLIANT EverGlow is ideal for clinicians like himself who prefer warming their composite materials because it responds well to heat. The composite should be applied in 2-mm increments and light-cured layer by layer, taking 10 to 20 seconds to cure depending on the shade and layer thickness.
“It’s honestly a great composite as far as shade matching, stickiness, shine, polishability, and wear rate,” Dr. Albrecht said. “You actually get all the benefits of a high-quality composite at an economical price. I’ve been using Coltene BRILLIANT EverGlow since it came to the market, and I have never even given it a thought to switch. It has always been a reliable composite for me.”
