During the day, the event will showcase clinical and business education featuring the latest technologies from the leading manufacturers, with ample time for customized walkthroughs at interactive booths. “As a private practitioner, it's important for me to share what has worked and what hasn't worked for me so that I can create the best technology journey for my peers."
- Karyn Halpern, DMD, MS
"If you think of the typical trade show environment where you have a hall with vendors and some CE going on, there’s not a lot of excitement or camaraderie that can be gained,” said Walter Renne, DMD, a dental technology-focused speaker and educator, who will be leading a course on intraoral scanning and chairside milling. “What’s so awesome about THRIVELIVE is that they’ve managed to find unique ways to bring everyone together in a learning environment that enables people to truly Unique educational event for clinicians and their teams to learn from industry thought leaders, explore technology from leading manufacturers, and enjoy world-class entertainment Scan the QR code to get a peek at THRIVELIVE 2022. It’s something that I think is really unique in the profession, and that puts a fresh spin on the typical dental education format."
Sharing Digital Journeys
The unique annual event will center around 4 core topics—Clinical & Technology, Business, Practice Design, and Software Training—and feature over 50 thought-provoking speakers who will lead discussions on dozens of trending topics in dentistry, including digital workflows and clinical techniques, CAD/CAM technology, practice marketing, patient communication, software, and more.
One THRIVELIVE speaker who is eager to dive back into in-person learning is Karyn Halpern, DMD, MS, a leader in CAD/CAM dentistry who will be sharing the technologies and workflows she uses to create clinical success and practice profitability. “I’m so excited to attend and present during THRIVELIVE 2022,” said Dr. Halpern. “As a private practitioner, it’s important for me to share what has worked and what hasn’t worked for me so that I can create the best technology journey for my peers. I’ll also share the materials, techniques, and team participation that have worked best for my practice and patient care.”
Education, Technology, Community
Dental teams everywhere are anxious for an opportunity to learn about the latest technology, including CAD/ CAM, intraoral scanners, 2D and 3D imaging equipment, 3D printing, lasers, and more—especially considering the plethora of options available to general dental practitioners.
While virtual product demos and training sessions have become more common during the pandemic, many doctors and dental teams would prefer a more personal and hands-on approach to technology and equipment.
“We all know dentistry is a hands-on and social profession, and there is no replacement for seeing the products and techniques in person before you invest or take the next step in digital dentistry,” said Dr. Halpern.
In addition to world-class education and entertainment, THRIVELIVE will give attendees a much-needed opportunity to see the latest technology and equipment up close and personal before making an investment for their practices.
“THRIVELIVE is a meeting with the dental team at the center," added Dr. Halpern. "There are opportunities to hear from leading experts on the realworld workflows that have proven to be successful, as well as ample time to get hands-on experience with technology and ensure it’s the right fit for your practice, team, and workflow."
The Team Grows Together
Over the past 2 years, dental teams have banded together to face unexpected challenges—temporary office closures, social distancing with patients, and changing guidelines for infection control. So, it makes sense to continue that sense of camaraderie. Unlike traditional trade show events that are dentist-driven, THRIVELIVE is designed to offer a learning path for every member of the dental team.
“The most important thing that you could do for your practice is attend these types of meetings where you're able to grow as a team and everybody has a way to learn,” said Dr. Renne. “I think it's really important to bring the team as much as you can to these types of events because it makes it easier to implement what you learned the Monday after—something you're only really able to do if the whole team is on board."
For example, office managers and frontdesk team members can spend the day improving and expanding on how they use Dentrix and other software solutions in their practices, while dentists can attend courses on practice expansion, the latest restorative materials, implant placement, or how to market their services to patients. At night, the whole practice can come together to share their unique experiences while enjoying Vegas-style food and entertainment.
“THRIVELIVE 2022 is focused on bringing all of the resources to an attendee to not only see but experience effective clinical technologies and workflows, and also gain access to practical business courses and software training,” said Dr. Halpern. “Each team member can choose the content that’s right for them and then come together for networking and community.”
A Safe & Fun Way to Learn
Dentistry is and always will be a profession that thrives on camaraderie and communication. Coming together in the heart of Las Vegas for a brand-new type of educational event—trusting that Henry Schein is doing everything possible to keep clinicians and their dental teams safe during the event—may be just what the doctor ordered following a tumultuous period for dental practices around the world.
“Dentistry has weathered the storm and is coming out stronger than ever, but there is a gap from the last time we networked, shared, and experienced dentistry as a community,” noted Dr. Halpern. “THRIVELIVE 2022 is filling that gap by offering a one-of-akind experience in a safe environment where there is something new to gain for every member of the dental team.”
Networking Together—Finally!
THRIVELIVE speakers and thought leaders like Dr. Halpern and Dr. Renne will be available before and after their course sessions—giving clinicians their fi rst opportunity in 2 years to network and share ideas in person.
While virtual learning has become more prominent due to technology and the pandemic, Dr. Renne noted that he and many of his colleagues have found they appreciate in-person learning more than ever. “It’s going to be really great to connect with people again in a very safe but fun environment," he said. "I’m really looking forward to the in-person meeting and all that THRIVELIVE has to offer."
