Dr. Kaminer is a 1990 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After completing a 2-year postgraduate residency at North Shore University Hospital, Dr. Kaminer started practicing in Lawrence, NY, where he worked for over 12 years before moving to his state-of-the-art Hewlett location. In 1993, Dr. Kaminer was one of the fi rst 100 dentists in the U.S. to use a hard-tissue laser in his practice. Since then, he has created training courses for numerous dental laser companies and is considered by his peers to be an international laser expert. He has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of topics relating to dental lasers, technology, and minimally invasive dentistry.

For Ron Kaminer, DDS, despite an abundance of restoratives on the market, it’s easy to pick a winner, and he’s found one in the newly released GrandioSO 4U. “Having physical properties that closely resemble tooth structure makes this a clear winner in my book,” he confirmed.

Building on the success of VOCO’s GrandioSO, a universal nanohybrid composite known for its high strength and esthetics, GrandioSO 4U sets a new benchmark as dentistry’s most tooth-like universal composite—and it’s all thanks to a record-breaking 91% fi ller content.

“Our ultimate goal is to place dental materials in the mouth that will stand the test of time, and GrandioSO 4U is poised to do that,” Dr. Kaminer shared. “Its high filler rate means it will be able to withstand the strong forces present in the mouth.”

Easy Workflow, Less Inventory

Along with its tooth-like modulus of elasticity, thermal expansion, and flexural strength, GrandioSO 4U uses a simplified shade system of just 5 cluster shades to cover all 16 VITA classic shades.

“Having a dental material with a chameleon effect is always advantageous,” shared Dr. Kaminer, who uses GrandioSO 4U in the anterior and posterior and for all classes of restorations. “With only 5 shades, I can match virtually every color that I would need, which makes my workflow easy and cuts down on inventory,” he added. “The material is highly esthetic and polishes really well and easily.”

All-new Visual-Transformation Technology allows the material to remain highly translucent in its uncured state. Then, during light curing, translucency decreases while opacity increases, creating a final shade that closely mimics natural dentition.

“Being able to light cure to a depth of 4 mm in 10 seconds allows for quicker procedures, but more importantly, the confidence that deeper restorations are cured fully and quickly,” Dr. Kaminer said.

The Whole Package

In addition to being 900% more opaque on x-rays than aluminum, GrandioSO 4U has half the resin content of most universal composites for outstanding wear resistance and enhanced color stability. It also has low shrinkage of only 1.44% by volume, and is non-sticky for superior handling.

“It’s strong, esthetic, and easy to work with, and it has extremely low shrinkage, which is critical for long-term success,” Dr. Kaminer concluded.
