Some outcomes are predictable, others are not. When it comes to successful dental treatments, there’s a host of considerations that can sway a result either way. That’s why when dentists find a material that performs well every time, it becomes one piece of the treatment puzzle they can count on. For Dr. Michael Wong, TPH Spectra ST fits the bill.

“TPH Spectra ST is very reliable and has all the properties we would want to see in a composite. I’ve found that it can be used in both posterior and anterior cases without any issues,” said Dr. Wong, who treats pediatric patients in the Lansdale, PA, office of North Penn Pediatric Dental Associates.

Excellent Adaptation

Dentsply Sirona’s TPH Spectra ST is ideal for most common restorations because of its SphereTEC filler technology, a feature that enables superior adaptation and sculptability for easy placement and shaping. SphereTEC fillers are uniquely shaped and distributed to create a ball-bearing-like effect. In addition, the composition of the fillers allows them to bind more completely to free resin when compared to similar fillers, without stickiness.

“In my practice, I use TPH Spectra ST for all aspects of composites, including Class V lesions, anterior esthetics, and pediatric strip crowns,” shared Dr. Wong. “I’ve been using the material for 5 years now, and I’ve found its shapeability to be superb, as well as its handling,” he continued.

Superior Handling

With TPH Spectra ST’s SphereTEC filler technology, clinicians benefit from excellent slump resistance and can choose between 2 handling options: a creamy, spreadable low viscosity, or a firm, packable high viscosity that allows for easy adaptation to cavity surfaces.

Simplified Shade Matching

In addition to superior handling, the Sphere TEC filler technology provides exceptional polishability and stain resistance for long-lasting, esthetic restorations. The technology also provides a chameleon effect for simplified shade matching. There are 5 universal CLOUD shades available covering the full VITA range, allowing for reliable, accurate shade matching to surrounding tooth structure. Most dentists will need only 1 universal CLOUD shade for the majority of their cases, a benefit that can conserve valuable shelf space and reduce inventory costs. There are also additional dentin and enamel shades for more complex anterior cases, as well as a BW shade available for bleach white restorations.

“TPH Spectra ST has great adaptive color-matching properties,” Dr. Wong shared. “This color matching makes it highly esthetic. Along with its ease of use, this is the main reason why my team loves it and why I highly recommend it."
