TrimExpert Appliance Trimming Solution
Providing patients with ideally customized dental appliances requires an easy way to trim excess material and create high-quality trim edges when necessary. Axsys Dental Solutions recently launched TrimExpert, a first-of-its-kind automated appliance-trimming solution that allows clinicians to create and trim a variety of dental appliances right in their office in as little as 30 seconds.
Expert Trimming Capabilities
Once identified, TrimExpert appliance-trimming solution can facilitate manual or automated loading of the appliance and model onto a custom fixture on the machine where an accurate trim line is machined. Through TrimExpert’s highly streamlined process, the trim line and the 5-axis machining program needed to complete the trimming process is automatically generated and sent to the practice’s Versamill Dental Machining Center to trim the appliance. TrimExpert facilitates the automation of this process when a batch of appliances needs to be machined.
“Our extensive experience in automating these types of processes in the automotive and aircraft industries allowed us to develop this trimming solution with no significant design, technological, fabrication, installation, or operational challenges,” said Axsys CEO and President Steve Braykovich.
The final trimmed dental appliance can be customized to fit the clinician’s needs as well as the practice’s existing IT infrastructure. The TrimExpert solution is scalable, and automation components can be added incrementally as practices add more cases.
