Companies that flourish—and products that dominate market share—follow a simple, proven Rx. They keep their finger firmly on the pulse of an industry, and they present solutions that everyone wants. 3Shape has steadfastly built its reputation on an eagerness to search out what dentists say they need in order to deliver superior patient care.

And it’s this same, carefully honed alacrity that’s been the driving force behind the introduction of 3Shape’s newest scanner, the TRIOS Core, as well as a series of exciting enhancements to the company’s popular TRIOS 3.

TRIOS Quality, Affordably Priced

While many clinicians are intrigued by digital impressions, studies show that not only can cost be a deterrent to a scanner purchase, but that the majority of practices are primarily interested in a send-to-lab workflow.

For 3Shape, that data translates into 2 simple words: challenge accepted.

Combining TRIOS core scanning technology with a lab-ready workflow at an affordable price, TRIOS Core answers both these concerns. First, it’s an economically priced scanner that maintains the high quality and accuracy offered by other TRIOS scanners, yet it also sports a more streamlined functionality that is ideal for a send-to-lab workflow.

“We saw a clear need among a lot of dentists, especially those just entering the field, who want to take the first step into digital dentistry,” said Rune Fisker, 3Shape’s Senior Vice President of Product Strategy. “They told us they wanted a great scanning experience that allows them to send scans to the lab at an affordable price—and that's exactly what the TRIOS Core does.”

TRIOS Core is also perfect for practices that wish to add an additional scanner but hesitate because of the cost involved. “We follow the market closely and talk to a lot of customers, and our market data shows 2 things: dentists are scanning much more than ever before, and eventually, they will need a second scanner,” Fisker noted.

Accurate, Fast, and Easy!

Packed with the precise AI technology found in the more advanced TRIOS scanners—including TRIOS 5, a newly crowned DPS Best Product—and featuring the essential tools needed for a seamless lab workflow, the realistic color scans delivered by TRIOS Core are designed to enhance patient discussions and gain increased case acceptance.

Wired and USB-C connected, TRIOS Core features optimal ventilation, along with an intuitive button for easy, continuous scanning. Users can capture an entire treatment workflow—everything from a single tooth, full arches, and edentulous cases—with a smooth scanning experience that's up to 75% faster than traditional impressions and that the majority of clinicians find to be more accurate.

Making the 'Best' Even Better

In addition to adding TRIOS Core to its family of scanners, 3Shape also unveiled a series of product enhancements to its award-winning TRIOS 3, a practice go-to trusted by tens of thousands of dentists.

“TRIOS 3 is a great scanner that's really loved and embraced by dentists worldwide,” Fisker added.

Using proven scanning technology that's backed by more than 250 peer-reviewed studies, TRIOS 3 now offers an updated design featuring a sleek new color: twilight titanium.

“We are very excited about the new color for TRIOS 3,” Fisker shared. “It’s very eye-catching and gives an amazing look."

The newly updated TRIOS 3 also features a redesigned scanner button that’s an easier “press” for clinicians, as well as a new scanner outlet. It occupies a smaller footprint as well, sitting on a pod that’s 10% smaller and 30% lighter than the previous TRIOS 3 model, while a USB-C cord eliminates the need for an external power cord.

The pod also is positioned horizontally, an improvement to the previous version of the TRIOS 3 pod, which sat in a tilted position. It's easier to clean and has an LED guiding light that alerts clinicians when it’s ready to scan.

“It’s important to note that even though TRIOS 3 has several years on its back, we have added a tremendous amount of software updates, so this new model includes the latest, 3Shape-trusted scanning technology and user experience," Fisker said.
