Advanced file engineering offers the benefits of improved endodontic treatment with increased respect of the tooth anatomy

When dentin tissue is removed during endodontic treatment, tooth strength may be compromised. This is why it's important to use instruments that preserve as much structural dentin as possible, while allowing for proper debridement and appropriate irrigation of the canal.

TruNatomy is a complete clinical solution designed to respect the natural anatomy of the root canal system. Because prognosis of root-filled teeth depends on the success of endodontic treatment and the amount of remaining tissue, TruNatomy features an intuitive file system that removes dentin only where needed and meets the resulting challenge of how to irrigate and obturate narrow preparations properly.

“The advantage of the TruNatomy system is sizing of the files to better match the root canal morphology. As a result, we are putting less stress on the root because of the lower torque used by the handpiece,” said Dr. Les Elfenbein, a noted endodontic speaker.

“The TruNatomy system has enabled me to improve my overall efficiency more than any other file system that I've used.”

Seamless Shaping, Irrigation, and Obturation

Designed to adapt to the canal—not the other way around—TruNatomy shaping files have a slim 0.8 mm maximum flute diameter, allowing for dentin preservation, and feature an off-centered crosssection with a regressive taper for superior efficiency.

Proper irrigation is critical to remove bacteria and debris. The TruNatomy Irrigation Needle’s back-to back and two-sided vent design permits irrigating on the outstroke to allow backflow while avoiding apical pressure. When used with the small tip of the EndoActivator handpiece, the irrigation solution is agitated during treatment to enhance deep cleaning and disinfection.

While gutta-percha sizing has been inconsistent with many manufacturers, TruNatomy Conform Fit Gutta-Percha is variably tapered to match the precise shapes created by TruNatomy files for optimal warm vertical obturation. The points, which feature an improved heat transfer up to 5 mm beyond the heat source, are not made with natural rubber latex.

“The TruNatomy system has enabled me to improve my overall efficiency more than any other file system that I've used over the years,” Dr. Elfenbein concluded.
