Why I Use... SQ Implant

A fully digital implant workflow offering simple placement and strong osseointegration

SQ ImplantThe SQ Implant is part of a workflow that includes implant planning software, computer-guided implant placement, and a 3D printer—all from Dentis USA. The company is among a handful of the very best dental manufacturers from South Korea, where the level of competition and drive for excellence in private practice and within the academic scene are unmatched in any other society. Here, Dr. Jin Y. Kim sheds light on his extensive experience working with Dentis USA implant products.

As a practicing, referral-based periodontist for over 20 years, I was one of the first clinicians in North America to evaluate Dentis USA’s dental implant products when they were introduced here in 2009. I’ve enjoyed success with all 3 implant lines the company has launched in the period since. The latest to be unveiled is the SQ Implant, which allows for simple placement and strong osseointegration.

The SQ Implant Workflow

The SQ Implant features a tapered body design and a dual and open thread that facilitates robust primary stability, especially in extraction sockets. Its SLA (sandblasted with large grits and acid-etched) surface treatment promotes excellent osseointegration. Further, the implant has a conical connection with a platform shift that is known to be the optimal design for crestal bone preservation.

As with any contemporary dental implant system, the optimal workflow starts and ends digitally. Dentis USA’s software program for implant planning and guide preparation is DENTIQ . The software is easy to use, very convenient, and can produce surgical guides as well as temporary restorations in just a few quick steps. For those who may be challenged in the use of planning software, the company provides implant planning services provided by experienced technicians and overseen by credentialled clinicians. An exclusive guide system for the SQ Implant is available with the software, allowing for computer-guided implant placement. The Zenith 3D printer from Dentis USA completes this digital workflow impeccably— producing high-quality surgical guides as part of a wide range of applications.

Highest-Quality Products

It’s taken a while for the U.S. dental community to embrace the true value of products from South Korea. However, just like with Samsung and Hyundai, the nation’s dental products are of high quality and great value. The number of implants being placed and restored per capita in South Korea is among the highest in the world—and the level of competition and drive for excellence in private practice and within the academic scene are unmatched in any other society. Of the 30 or more dental implant manufacturers in South Korea, only the very best have entered the U.S. market, and Dentis USA is one of them.

The quality of Dentis USA’s implant workflow has proven itself time and again. In fact, my oldest Dentis USA implant case is from 11 years ago and is still doing very well, with virtually no changes in the crestal bone.
