A high-viscosity flowable composite features a unique LIGHT-DIFFUSION filler matrix for expert shade matching and highly esthetic restorations
After earning an undergraduate degree in biology from St. John's University in Queens, NY, Dr. Secareanu went on to graduate from New York University College of Dentistry in 2004. He has run Woodside Family Dental in Woodside, NY, for the last 20 years. The practice is dedicated to all phases of dentistry, from cosmetics to surgery and dental implants. Passionate about Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Secareanu maintains a license to practice acupuncture and incorporates it into treatment for TMJ conditions and disorders, as well as other procedures. He leads occasional holistic retreats to Sedona, AZ.
A general dentist for over 2 decades, Christian Secareanu, DDS, has always maintained a supply cabinet filled with many different types of composites in his busy Woodside, NY, practice. But after sampling CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal during a recent DPS product review, the composite is now a practice staple—simplifying his restorative workflow while saving time and money when ordering and stocking materials. Here, he describes how CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal has provided him with esthetic restorations and given his patients a chance to ask, “Which tooth is it?”

'Shiny Finish' & No Sensitivity
I’ve also had great success when using CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES Flow Universal in Class V restorations, particularly in teeth that have suffered from severe buccal abrasion. In these cases, the esthetics were perfect—with an excellent shiny finish—and there was no lingering sensitivity.
This composite not only makes our day-to-day operative work easier, but it also saves our practice money and time when ordering and stocking materials. One composite does it all! And that's something I've not had in our practice until now.
However, the most rewarding part of using this composite, besides the handling and durability, is the final test when patients want to see their teeth at the end of a procedure. The mate-rial’s color blends so well that most patients don’t know which tooth had the restoration—and it actually looks better than most of their other teeth. My guess is this would be the LIGHT-DIFFUSION technology at work.
We no longer feel anxious when doing esthetic work, nor do we need to go through a tedious shade selection process as we've had to in the past. When using this material, the end result is pretty much guaranteed to be great.
