WHY I USE...SoloCem
A self-adhesive resin cement for indirect bonding that does not require etching, a separate adhesive, or light curing

As a formally trained and employed industrial chemist and clinical dentist, I view Coltene’s SoloCem as an easy-to-use, self-adhering, radiopaque, and dual-curing dental cement. Due to its MDP and 4-MET(A) monomers, a separate adhesive is not required, and you can cement to any substrate, including a tooth, crown, metal, gold, non-precious metal, semi-precious metal, zirconia, ceramic, polymer, and fiber materials such as posts. Suitable for a variety of indications—crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, endodontic posts, and implant abutments—SoloCem’s versatility is one of its unique qualities that I respect and appreciate.
Single-Step Solution
SoloCem is a one-step solution that is quick and easy to use. It saves time because there is no setup or mixing required, it does not require etching or a separate adhesive application, and there is no need to light cure. In addition, SoloCem’s self-etching properties are an added benefit, and any extra cement is very easy to clean up.
Combining Strength & Versatility
The composite-like formulation of SoloCem contains antibacterial zinc oxide to improve the longevity and stability of a restoration, and the cement’s low shrinkage also contributes to a successful long-term, durable restoration. The enhanced broad spectrum of adhesion provides pulpal protection that is required by clinicians today for better pain-free longevity of dental restorative treatment. By combining strong bonding with the ability to cement to a wide variety of substrates, enhanced stability from low shrinkage, and antibacterial action, what more can a dental clinician ask for?
Optimal Esthetics
The answer to that question is color stability, another immediate and long-term cosmetic benefit of using SoloCem. Cosmetically, SoloCem has 3 shade options—Dentin, White Opaque, and Translucent. Opaque is necessary for stained and dark substrates including metals; Dentin is available for dentin matching and coverage; and Translucent is beneficial for allowing quality natural shades to show through. Any restorations that were cemented with SoloCem have held up very well in both bond strength and esthetics. SoloCem is a fast, effective, simple, esthetic, and predictable choice for cementation.
