Acteon’s “Join the Movement” Campaign

I love to be inspired, encouraged, energized by an idea, motivated by a cause, excited by a concept. It’s exhilarating! And that all happened when I clicked on this site, launched by Acteon. The graphics are stunning—the body with bulls eyes on the head, mouth, heart, lungs, and kidneys, next to the boxing glove throwing a punch at periodontal disease. The map of the country with the stats that 1 out of every 2 people, or 64.7 million adults in the US have periodontal disease. And nearly 75 million have unhealthy gums that can double their risk of a heart attack. There is information on detecting, diagnosing, and treating periodontal disease, and using Code D4346 for treating gingivitis. There’s a video and information on Acteon’s clinical training as well as patient education materials.

This site, and campaign, is very effective at bringing attention to the hidden epidemic of periodontal disease and its oral systemic effect. And it draws attention to SoproCARE, which is the only imaging system that can detect gingivitis, an early form of periodontal disease. SoproCARE can illuminate and document gingival inflammation in the same video as caries, dental plaque, and calculus with its three modes: daylight, to take regular pictures; caries detection; and a perio mode. Images can be used to explain to patients that they need treatment and demonstrate when the treatment is complete.

I also love it when the name of something makes resonates. It looks like SoproCARE means Acteon really does care!
