It’s a simple truth that if a company or brand has been around for more than 100 years, it excels at innovation. This is true of both Keystone Industries and Harry J. Bosworth, two companies that came of age together in the 20th century. Nearly four years ago, Keystone acquired Bosworth, bringing together more than two centuries combined in the dental manufacturing business.

One of Bosworth’s strengths is in denture material formulations for different patient needs and applications. A closer look at these products reveals why Keystone was eager to combine businesses.

Here are some of Bosworth’s highlights:

Dentusil– an easy-to-use chairside soft silicone relining material that provides denture patients with a comfortable, reliable reline in just one visit. The key to this product is its silicone base, which absorbs less water, making the reline more resistant to stains and odors. Dentusil provides a secure reline in just minutes, as its adhesive is specially formulated to hold the material in place. Its translucent pink color provides a natural, healthy appearance.

Original Truliner PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) Denture Corrective Relining Material – a chairside denture reline material formulated to last the life of the denture. Original Truliner is extremely fine-milled into a powder that cures to a dense consistency and prevents the reline from assuming odors, tastes, or stains. It can be used for repairs and orthodontic appliances and, in as little as 10 minutes, creates a strong permanent bond that will not chip or discolor. The powder is available in pink, vein, and clear.

New Truliner PEMA (poly ethyl methacrylate) Denture Corrective Relining Material – was developed to restore a denture’s original fit in as little as 10 minutes. Due to reduced heat, it’s best used for the geriatric demographic. It’s color-stable, and it’s high-density surface guarantees greater patient satisfaction. Central to this product’s effectiveness is its ability to chemically fuse to the denture in 15 to 20 minutes, and its formulation lasts up to one year. After curing, rebased surfaces can be trimmed and polished like the original denture without showing a line of demarcation. The powder is available in pink, vein, and clear.

Trusoft Resilient Denture Acrylic Relining Material – is also PEMA formulated, and is specifically designed as an intermediate liner for patients who require a longer adjustment period prior to using a hard liner or denture base material. Its elasticity helps prevent pressure pain, tender ridges, sensitive areas, and irritated tuberosities. Trusoft is formulated to remain resilient for up to 30 days. It can be used for every patient as a precautionary measure, but it’s necessary for patients who are slow to heal or sensitive to wearing new dentures. When the patient exhibits control and acceptance, he or she is ready for a permanent reline.

Softone Resilient Denture Acrylic Treatment – is a reliable tissue conditioner and functional impression material that restores, conditions, massages and rehabilitates damaged tissue before a new denture rebase or final reline. With flow and natural flex, Softone allows the denture to stay in the mouth throughout the treatment period. Softone helps massage swollen or sore ridges, and rehabilitates back to the patient’s comfort level. Available in pink or white powder, it lasts up to 4 days in the mouth.
