The CEREC system can be used to plan chairside implant surgery and create individual, customized implant prosthetics in the dental office. This gives the clinician control over the whole process, from planning guided surgery to providing the prosthesis, including custom abutments to screw-retained crowns. Sirona’s CEREC Guide 2 software is specifically designed for virtually planning the surgical guide for drilling single-tooth implant sites. CEREC Guide 2 streamlines the design and milling process into fewer visits, and can accommodate same-day delivery in appropriate cases. The CEREC software automatically calculates the surgical guide, which is milled from PMMA in the milling unit in less than an hour. Because the surgical guide features lingual side access for drilling, and a unique adjustable stent, clinicians can accommodate and customize stents for procedures in space-restricted regions and trust that the implant will be placed precisely. With the wide range of compatible materials for both provisional and final restorations available for use with the CEREC system, clinicians can offer patients tailored esthetic solutions.
