Dental Whale Names Joe Cavaretta its New Leader
The world of online dental education has exploded in recent months, in part due to COVID-19-related restrictions on live, hands-on, in-person
training and seminars. Ahead of the curve, Dental Whale was already in the business of supplying practice management solutions and education to dental offices—including innovative tools to easily manage business services, purchasing, and educational requirements.
To further develop and promote Dental Whale’s unique offerings to both independent dentists and dental service organizations (DSOs), Joe Cavaretta will assume the manufacturer’s key leadership position from company founder David Lopez, who will transition to vision leader and chairman of the board.

Tasked with reimagining the dental industry, Cavaretta joined Dental Whale nearly two years ago with over 20 years of dental industry experience under his belt, most recently serving as the Vice President of Sales for the U.S. dental business at Henry Schein. There, he was responsible for generating over $2 billion in annual sales and leading more than 2,000 team members.
