Diamonds: Destruction You Can Depend On

Whenever I see “indestructible dog toys,” I have to laugh. My sister had a dog who would destroy those toys, many of which are made from materials that look and feel like rubber, within minutes.

Crowns and veneers, though, are a lot harder to cut through. In fact, what most patients love about these extracorporeal pieces is their durability—until there’s a problem and the patient needs additional dental work. When those hard-to-destruct pieces need to be destructed, a procedure can be complicated and prolonged.

That’s when it’s time to break out the diamonds. Diamonds can cut through zirconia and metal crowns and porcelain veneers, and can do so quickly, reducing procedure length. A diamond bur also gives you flexibility when it comes to getting the cut and level of smoothness you need.

Diamond burs are available as both multi-use and single-patient-use disposables. Multi-use options are more economical, and single use burs can often, "fall short on performance," says Dr. Carrie Neimann, DDS. "[A&M's] diamond stayed sharp for the whole procedure."

A&M Instruments, a leader in dental tool manufacturing, offers more than 1,000 multi-use and single-patient-use diamond dental burs and discs in a large variety of shapes, sizes and grits. Plus, the company’s strict adherence to ISO and FDA quality control standards and meticulous inspection ensure fast, easy operation with each use.

A&M has won a number of awards for their dental burs. In fact, we recently rated their FG Diamond Dental Burs a 4.2 rating and named them a Recommended Product. You can read our full evaluation here, which cites a patient’s satisfaction with the reduction in procedure time and discomfort because of the use of diamond dental burs. Dr. Robert Korwin said the A&M diamond dental bur became his “favorite diamond bur immediately.”

A&M’s diamond burs might become your favorite, too. To find out more, visit aminstr.com or call 1-866-264-4287.
