The ADA's 2015 America's Dental Meeting will be held November 5-10 in Washington D.C. For the third year in a row, the ADA will host a Mission of Mercy event at the annual meeting.
This year's Mission of Mercy (MOM) event will be held Nov. 8 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This free one-day dental clinic, in cooperation with the District of Columbia Dental Society, will serve up to 1,000 patients in need of dental care - from cleanings and exams to surgical and restorative treatments.
This is the first MOM event held in our nation’s capital, according to ADA News. "Having the MOM in Washington, D.C. draws national attention to the issue of oral health and its correlation to overall health," said Dr. Johanna Huijssoon, DCDS member and local chair of the MOM event.
At the 2014 ADA Annual Meeting, dental professionals treated 1,207 patients at the MOM event in San Antonio, providing $526,474 in total care to those in need. More than 1,000 volunteer dentists, hygienists, assistants, students and community workers supported this event.
While clinical volunteer applications are now closed, the ADA invites you to come for the meeting and stay through Sunday to join your colleagues from across the nation in bringing free dental care to Washington, D.C.
