A former high school librarian from Cape Elizabeth, Maine has developed a fully recyclable floss product to combat plastic waste.
According to a report by WMTW, Jodi Breau launched Dental Lace from a small home workshop. She begins with high-grade, biodegradable spools of silk floss from China, and instead of packing it in plastic, she uses reusable, refillable glass containers. The packaging is 100% recycled paper with soy-based ink.
Breau hopes that customers will purchase the full container with 100 feet of floss and then buy floss refills to use with the original container.
