Intraoral Repair Kit
A comprehensive intraoral repair kit that combines all the necessary components to effectively repair restorations
In a perfect world, dental restorations would last a lifetime. But the reality is that sometimes restorations break or fail, which is never convenient for the patient. But if you can repair the framework of a broken or damaged intraoral restoration without replacing the old one, you can perhaps lessen the patient’s inconvenience while providing a cost-effective solution. And, for your own convenience, if you can get all the materials for restoration repairs in one easy-to-use, versatile kit, you could save time during repair procedures, which makes this a cost-effective solution for your practice as well.
BISCO’s Intraoral Repair Kit—which includes Z-Prime Plus, Porcelain Primer, Porcelain Bonding Resin, Dual-Cured Opaquer, Porcelain Etchant (9.5% HF) and Barrier Gel—includes everything needed for a successful intraoral restorative repair, ensuring that repairs will be made correctly and completely. Calling the kit “easy to use,” Dr. Irving Lebovics said, “I like the fact that everything you need is in the kit except for the composite material.” He also reported that the materials included in the Intraoral Repair Kit “seem to bond better and are more esthetic than previously used systems.”
Convenience and Time Savings
Being able to repair a restoration versus replacing it is an enormous benefit to using the Intraoral Repair Kit. When Dr. Alan Pressman used the kit to splint two crowns for a patient, he said, “The patient, an 86-year-old male, was overjoyed not to have to redo the crowns.” In addition, Dr. Pressman said he was able to complete procedures quickly and explained, “We did not need to send a crown back to add pink porcelain, saving chair time.” Describing the kit as “reliable and easy to use,” Dr. Matthew Giunta suggested that “it could be condensed into fewer steps.”
Designed for clinicians’ convenience, the completeness of the kit allows practices to purchase all necessary components in one comprehensive kit. Dr. Arman Roskar, who used the Intraoral Repair Kit to repair a patient’s porcelain restoration, said it “has everything you need in the kit” to successfully repair a wide range of damaged restorations. “The kit is comprehensive and has all the needed components for most clinical repair scenarios,” agreed Dr. R.J. Sondkar, who successfully repaired minor fractured porcelain and chips in the anterior cosmetic zones. Rating the kit’s convenience as excellent, Dr. Marshall Dicker said, “Everything I need is here in one complete kit!” Dr. Byron Davis agreed that “the packaging and having everything in one place is very convenient,” and added, “Ease of use makes this a great product.”
Versatility
Suitable for repairs on porcelain, lithium disilicate, porcelain-fused-to-metal, zirconia/alumina, and direct or indirect composite restorations, the Intraoral Repair Kit is designed to fix a variety of restoration types without the need for total replacement. Calling the kit “very versatile and easy to use,” Dr. Pressman said he used it for multiple purposes. “Interestingly, I added gingival [composite] underneath an implant-retained crown extraorally, and it came out beautiful. I also splinted 2 old crowns that were clinically acceptable but had a food trap, and we were able to close it,” he added. Dr. Sondkar also appreciated the kit’s versatility and said it “made minor repairs more feasible,” and Dr. Giunta said it “helped to salvage a porcelain crown that was fractured on the buccal.” The Intraoral Repair Kit provided “reliable bonding to fractured ceramic” for Dr. Davis, who reported, “So far the repairs attempted have held up excellently.”

Esthetics
Along with versatility and convenience, BISCO’s Intraoral Repair Kit creates an esthetic, patient-pleasing final result. After using the kit to repair a fractured porcelain anterior bridge, Dr. Paul Yi reported that he “got excellent esthetics and didn’t have to replace the bridge.” He said he now feels more comfortable treating repair cases. When repairing a fractured porcelain crown, Dr. Lebovics described great results and said the “bond seemed stronger than older products.” Although most dentists appreciated the esthetic results obtained with the repair kit, Dr. Roskar said the products within the kit “help a little, but it isn’t a permanent solution.”
Overall Satisfaction
Earning a DPS Best Product rating, this easy-to-use kit is a convenient, cost-effective solution for dentists and their patients. Every dentist who evaluated BISCO’s Intraoral Repair Kit said they would recommend this product to colleagues, with Dr. Pressman concluding that “the results were incredible.” Noting that he’s looking forward “to seeing longer term results of the repairs we did,” Dr. Lebovics summed up his thoughts by saying, “I like the product. It offers a better way to do what we are already doing.” And Dr. Sondkar said it “made minor repairs feasible over replacing the entire crown restoration with added lab costs. It is a BISCO quality product at a reasonable price.”
