Witnessing a patient’s delighted reaction when they first see their newly restored smile is one of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry. But in order to maintain those smile-worthy outcomes over time, a clinician’s choice of restorative materials is crucial, especially when cementing veneer restorations.
With multiple shade options for diverse clinical situations, BISCO’s Choice 2 veneer cement not only ensures natural-looking final restorations, but it also provides the color stability and lasting strength needed for long-term success.
“Choice 2 takes the stress and guesswork out of placing veneers,” said Dr. Russ Jensen, who practices at Maple Grove Dentistry in Boise, ID. “It makes shade matching predictable, so we can reliably tell the patient that what they see is what they get, and they can rely on that color not changing. The selected shade remains the same color.”
Dr. Pooja Saroha shared a similar perspective. “The cement color is stable,” she assured. “I’m very excited to do veneers again without worrying about shade and color challenges.”
Comprehensive Kit Contents
Designed for the cementation of porcelain, lithium disilicate, zirconia, and composite veneers, Choice 2 is a shade-stable, light-cured luting cement available in a starter kit containing all components needed for the veneer cementation process, along with a corresponding try-in paste kit (sold separately).
“I love this product,” Dr. Manny Chopra said. “BISCO did a great job with the easy-to-use materials, the well-organized packaging, and the great instructions—all with no added time needed for use.” Dr. Ross Isbell was similarly impressed with the kit’s organization and labeling, finding it had “everything needed for the veneer delivery process.” He also said, “I especially like the flat nose cone for delivery of a ribbon of material along the intaglio wall.”
“The Choice 2 kit made the cementation process appear seamless,” said Dr. Bilyana Tesic, who “loved how well-thought-out and neatly organized it was. It made for faster and easier cementation and cleanup.”
Dr. Abraham Jaskiel suggested including 1 or 2 additional shade choices, but he also said, “It’s a great option for many types of cosmetic cases. I cemented a veneer case that involved minimal prep, and I felt more confident about the veneers staying in place.”
Handling Properties
Choice 2’s low film thickness enables easy application and placement, which results in completely seated veneer restorations. Its handling properties also aid with removal of excess cement.
For Dr. Saroha, Choice 2’s “consistency and working time are perfect,” and Dr. Tesic “loved the viscosity. It allows for more precise placement, fl ow, and handling.” Dr. Jaskiel said, “I really liked the consistency of this cement, which allows the veneers to better stay in place during cementation.”
While delivering a multiunit anterior case, Dr. Isbell said that Choice 2 “delivered smoothly, with no bubbling or consistency discrepancies.” Dr. Steven Oliver also “loved the handling and simplicity,” and Dr. Craig Golden described cleanup as “very easy.”
Shade Match and Stability
Specifically formulated to prevent shade shifting over time,* the Choice 2 resin matrix system is enhanced with advanced filler nanotechnology for excellent shade stability and reinforced restoration strength. Eight VITA** and chromatic shades offer high esthetic flexibility, and the corresponding try-in pastes facilitate shade selection prior to cementation.
“The range of shades makes this product unlike any other,” said Dr. Anthony Vocaturo, who found that “the esthetic shades helped me easily match the cement to the veneer shade.” Dr. Mary Gaddis said, “The excellent color selection made it easy to accommodate small changes” and “assisted in getting the very best end results.”
“I appreciate the shades being neutral and natural, avoiding overly warm or cool tints that can complicate case planning,” Dr. Jensen said. In addition, Dr. Sital Patel assured, “The try-in pastes were helpful in a combination case I had with adjacent implants to confirm shade selection.”
While “matching a No. 7 veneer that fractured where the tint was a bit off on the veneer from the lab,” Dr. Chopra found that “Choice 2 fixed it!” Dr. David Kavanagh appreciated that there was “no change in value” when light cured.
Overall Satisfaction
“This product was exactly what I was looking for—a simple, easy-to-use cement with easy cleanup that makes cementing faster and easier. I wouldn’t change a thing,” Dr. Oliver said.
Dr. Jaskiel described Choice 2 as “a new and different veneer cement option,” which also met Dr. Vincent Labruna’s expectations for “a more efficient workflow.”
“Veneer cementation is one of the most stressful procedures we do,” Dr. Patel said. With that, she summed up her evaluation experience by saying, “Choice 2 helped take a lot of that stress away. It is reliable and user-friendly for the delivery of veneer cases. I loved it!”
