The CS 9300 is a low-dose, multi-modality CBCT solution designed for dental imaging.
When asked what they liked best about Carestream Dental’s CS 9300 CBCT scanner, 6 of 8 evaluators cited diagnostic capability. An evaluator with 27 years of experience described the CBCT scanner as “[an] excellent machine and quite easy to operate.”
The 3D, panoramic and optional cephalometric imaging of the CS 9300 provides clinicians with excellent image quality and practice flexibility, covering a wide scope of clinical needs.
Eight clinicians participated in this Dental Product Shopper evaluation of the CS 9300, rating such features as ability to aid in treatment planning, software ease of use and integration, and diagnostic capability.
Ability to Aid in Treatment Planning
Manufacturer Description: The CS 9300 comes preinstalled with Carestream Dental’s CS 3D imaging software, which provides clinicians with the details needed to present a more definitive treatment plan, resulting in increased case acceptance.
Evaluator Feedback: A clinician who rated all features of the CS 9300 as excellent said, “I love the way it helps me in diagnosis and treatment planning,” while another evaluator said that his favorite feature was “the ability to scan a patient and immediately incorporate diagnostic information into the consultation.”
Software Ease of Use and Integration
Manufacturer Description: The CS 9300’s streamlined user interface, preset programs, and face-to-face positioning make exams quick and simple while DICOM conformance ensures easy integration with PACS, RIS, and printing systems.
Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator from Athens, GA, with 24 years of experience said the CS 9300C “[provides] excellent integration into practice workflow and the quality of scans are superior to other products.” This same evaluator said he would definitely purchase it in the future and recommend it to his colleagues.
When asked what could be improved about the product, one evaluator, who rated ease of use as very good, said “integrating Synapshot software so CT can provide better visual documentation.”
Diagnostic Capability
Manufacturer Description: With image resolution up to 90 ?m, the CS 9300 delivers an excellent level of detail, allowing clinicians to collect diagnostic information for a range of clinical applications. The CS 9300 offers selectable fields of view for 3D imaging with up to 7 fields of view available for the CS 9300 and up to 5 fields of view available for the CS 9300 Select.
Evaluator Feedback: An evaluator who rated all features of the CS 9300 as excellent said, “[The CS 9300’s] versatility and diagnostic quality are excellent.”
Overall Satisfaction
Six evaluators called the CS 9300 much or somewhat better than similar products, with comments such as “easy to operate,” “excellent machine,” and “integrates seamlessly with our practice management software.” An evaluator from Port Huron, MI, said, “[The CS 9300 has the] best image quality and best software of any CBCT I have seen,” while a clinician in practice for 24 years summed up his evaluation saying, “I am very pleased with [my CS 9300C] purchase.”
