Simplicity —it's that prized but elusive quality that, when achieved, makes dental restorations quicker, easier, and more predictable. And while it might seem counterintuitive, it sometimes takes something extra to bring simplicity to fruition.
VOCO’s aptly named Admira Fusion x-tra provides just that with a unique chemistry that combines a simplified and expedited restorative process with predictable long-term outcomes. One of its innovative “extras” is nanohybrid filler technology, which allows the material to match the entire shade range with a single omni-chromatic shade. It also features low shrinkage and water solubility for optimal long-term esthetics. Its unique composition makes it suitable for bulk filling in 4-mm increments, further enhancing efficiency.
“Admira Fusion x-tra has all the qualities I’ve been looking for,” said Dr. Mai Nguyen. “It gave me the tight, broad proximal contacts I didn’t get with bulk fills I’ve used previously, and it was also quick and easy to place and sculpt.” An especially welcome "extra" was “a composite that’s a bulk fill yet looks esthetic,” a quality that Dr. Nguyen “loved vs bulk fills that appear too translucent or fail to match the shade.”
Dr. Ryan Saunders succinctly summed up the material’s gift of simplicity by telling DPS, “I loved the ease of [having] one product for all restorations.”
Simplified Shade Matching
As the first single-shade, omni-chromatic, nano-ORMOCER restorative material, Admira Fusion x-tra is designed to cover the entire VITA classical shade range while flawlessly matching the shade of surrounding tooth structure.
Hoping for a material that combines ease of placement with excellent shade matching and polishability, Dr. Partha Mukherji said Admira Fusion x-tra was “good on all 3,” and added, “I was pleasantly surprised by the shade adaptation and matching.” Dr. Saunders was “impressed by the shade matching and ease of use,” Dr. Joel Preminger described color matching as “fantastic,” and Dr. Elizabeth Spindel said it “blends well with many shades.”
While Dr. Shanna Soni called it a “multifaceted product that eliminates the need for numerous composite shades,” Dr. Nguyen would like to see "a wider shade matching." Dr. Stephen Palmer said, “It picked up the color of the surrounding enamel very well,” and Dr. Rishi Verma expressed, “It was exceptional at shade matching and ease of polishability.”
Handling Properties
“Admira Fusion x-tra is not too hard but not too sticky, handles easily, has good esthetics, and blends in with the tooth,” explained Dr. Tony Wu. “The consistency was great and it was very easy to manipulate,” shared Dr. Preminger, who also praised the “increased restoration speed.” Calling it “very creamy and sculptable,” Dr. Spindel noted, “The deeper 4-mm cure helped make the procedure quicker.”
“Handling was superior in my hands, and it was easy to finish/polish," declared Dr. Palmer. Dr. Audrey
