Evaluator Feedback: Ten of the 13 evaluators rated patient compliance (as compared to string floss or other interproximal cleaners) as excellent or very good, with comments such as, “My patients were motivated to use the brush and those who reported using it repeatedly liked it.” Another evaluator said, “Patients commented on the comfort, which I attributed to the triangular-shaped bristles.” One evaluator noted, “Patients who refuse to floss can use Go-Betweens. Most are at least attempting to use them because it's easy and can be used with one hand.”
Cleaning Effectiveness

One hygienist who rated GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Cleaners as excellent said, “In comparison with other products, this product has the edge due to the size option,” adding, “The tight brush worked great on a generally healthy patient with a chronic area of food impaction that other aids were not able to fit.”
When asked about potential improvements, one evaluator said, “The only drawback is that it's hard to get them between back molar teeth. Otherwise, I love the product.”
Ease of Use

Evaluator Feedback: “I loved the travel size because it can be tucked in a purse, backpack, or suit pocket,” said one evaluator. Comments on the handle included, “[It's] not slippery when wet,” as well as “The size is very good. Some of the handles on other brands are too thin.” Two evaluators suggested a slightly longer handle, one would have preferred “a bit larger grip area.” A hygienist with 38 years of experience said, “I think [the padded grips] make it much easier for the elder population to use, as well as patients with arthritis and limited dexterity, who tend to get frustrated trying to use floss.”
Overall Satisfaction
Twelve evaluators called Sunstar Americas' GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Cleaners much or somewhat better than similar products, and all 13 said they would definitely or probably purchase it and recommend it to colleagues. One evaluator said, “The dentists I work for loved it. They brought a sample into their weekly meeting to discuss ordering them.” An hygienist who called GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Cleaners much better than similar products, noted, “Not all teeth are universal and an interproximal aid shouldn't be either. This product's option of tight, moderate and wide has opened the door for universal use.”
