Infection prevention is a necessity and, sometimes, a pain. Practicing dentists, hygienists, and assistants must be diligent when sterilizing instruments and materials in order to meet the latest infection-control recommendations. A one-step operation, tip and sleeve placement is quick and easy, which saves time when compared to products that require an intensive sterilization process. “The time saved when attaching the combo is brilliant,” said dental assistant Jill Massey, noting how the tip and sleeve improved cleanup and setup time for her. The copolymer film sleeve in the Armor Combo slides onto the shaft of the syringe, covering the entire syringe for optimal infection prevention. “I loved the texture of the sleeve,” said Johnson. “It was easy to grip and wasn’t slippery like the ones we used before.” Vikram Rajadhyaksha, DMD, appreciated the “protective barrier built in,” and Dr. Alan Barr agreed, noting the sleeve “has the right feel—not too slippery.” Cary Goldstein, DDS, liked the size and design of the sleeve. “The sleeve covers not only the entire syringe but also the tubing, and it was easy to apply,” he explained.
Montoya said that he used to struggle to constantly adjust the fit of previous syringe covers. “I work solo, so I have to be efficient and productive,” he explained. “I was always taking the traditional sleeve off and adjusting the fit. For many dental product manufacturers, infection control is only half the battle. Accuracy of “When placing sealants, we need a very dry surface,” said Massey, who introduced the Armor Combo to her dental assisting students at a California college. “Keeping the site clean and dry is number one, and this helped. We were able to place sealants in record time.” One dental assistant hoped her new syringe tip would provide better air from the syringe. “It really worked well. I didn’t blow water when I was trying to only use the air,” she noted. “My faculty liked this product, too.”
While she experienced some leakage, Johnson said, “It wasn’t enough to leak onto the patient. The sleeve helped with that.” According to Montoya, “Moisture contamination is a dental practitioner’s nemesis. We need as little moisture as possible with our hydrophobic materials in such a moisture-saturated environment. Armor Combo solves this problem.”`

Most of the evaluators said that they would recommend the Armor Air/Water Syringe Tip & Sleeve Combo to their colleagues for its consistent durability and convenient features. “It’s easy to use and so much more hygienic,” commented Dr. Marc Hendler. Measuring his overall satisfaction as excellent, Goldstein described the Armor Combo as a “great, well-designed product” and concluded, “The asepsis of this product is second to none!”
