ScanPost by Sirona Dental Systems LLC is an impression post, which can be used intraorally to digitally capture the position of the implant in relation to the remaining teeth and the soft tissue. The implant-specific scan post is screwed together with the implant for the purpose of optical detection. It is easier and faster than conventional process and the position of the scanbody can be checked more precisely than current tibase. It is sterilizable along with the fixing screw and can be used up to 50 times. ScanPost is ideal for extremely sub-gingival implants and is not to be used for the final implant treatment.
