IPS Empress CAD is a system of composite (leucite-based) ceramic blocks that are commonly used for CAD/CAM dental restorations for individual teeth including veneers, inlays, onlays and crowns. IPS Empress CAD obtains its outstanding homogeneity and strength of 160 MPa in an optimized industrial manufacturing process. IPS Empress CAD HT blocks feature a high degree of translucency, making them ideally suited for the fabrication of smaller restorations (e.g., inlays and onlays). Restorations fabricated with the HT blocks demonstrate true-to-nature chameleon effect and outstanding adaptation to the residual tooth structure. The blocks simulate the lifelike fluorescence in order to permit optimum integration into the natural residual tooth structure.
