CR also creates an excellent marginal seal, preventing leakage of oral fluids and bacteria under the prosthesis that can cause postoperative pain and carious destruction of the prepared teeth. It has negligible solubility in oral fluids so that the marginal seal will maintain its integrity until the next appointment. CR has a 70 second working time and sets within 5 minutes.
