“It was easy to use right out of the box,” shared Dr. Anthony Storace. “The instructions were simple to follow and the product performed as expected,” he added. Dr. Storace said the system streamlined the post buildups, which he noted is always a plus for his team and the patient. “It actually helped reduce time overall,” he said. While Dr. Stuart Shaffren recommended a neater chairside storage system for the products, Dr. Todd Gottlieb said it was very convenient to have all components included in one kit and it was easy for his assistants to set up. “Using it all together was awesome!” he added.
After completing a root canal on one patient, Dr. Orr was able to restore a broken premolar to its full contours with the Pentron Post & Core System in a same-day prep for the crown and master impression. FibreKleer Posts and Breeze Cement
Pentron’s FibreKleer 4x Tapered Fiber Posts offer ultimate flexural strength, radiopacity, core retention, tooth preservation, and esthetics. Pentron offers a variety of post types and sizes, but for this evaluation the dentists received Pentron’s most popular size. “The post system was easy to use, and the bur was true to size for the post,” noted Dr. Nathan Vassiliades. “I did not need to go in and reclear the path to place the post.” Dr. Ryan Schwendiman said, “The drill used to create post space was very efficient.”
By eliminating the individual etching, priming, bonding, and mixing steps, the Breeze Self-Adhesive Resin Cement makes it easier and faster to cement crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and posts. “This was a great product,” shared Dr. Vassiliades. “It works really well. If we could make the cement and core material one, it would be even better.” Suggesting smaller tip sizes to place the cement into the canal space, Dr. Schwendiman said the system reduced his chair time because it was easy to cure the post and cement, and then immediately use the core material.
Build-It FR Core Material
“I loved the core material,” said Dr. Gottlieb, who was looking for simplicity in a post and core system. Formulated to flow and stack without slumping, the Build-It FR Fiber Reinforced Core Material self-cures in minutes or light-cures in seconds to a hard consistency that, according to Pentron, cuts like dentin. “The core material was great,” shared Dr. Schwendiman, who especially liked that it cut very similar to natural tooth structure. Dr. Sheldon Seidman said the core material cut well and was easy to prep. While he felt the material seemed a little too thick to squeeze directly out of the tube, he noted that the extra thickness allowed the material to stay where it was placed. Dr. Vassiliades commented, “Once the buildup and post was in the tooth, it seemed very stable. It gave me the buildup that I needed to place a crown on the tooth.”
Overall Satisfaction
Calling it “an easy-to-use product,” Dr. Frantz Backer praised the system for its predictability and strength, and said it results in a strong restoration. “[I] will continue to use this product,” he concluded. “It’s one of the best products out there.”
